The Reatile Foundation Trust, in partnership with the University of Johannesburg (UJ), invites students to apply for its 2025 bursary programme.
About the Bursary
The Reatile Foundation Trust is a non-profit, wholly black-owned organization established in 2003 by the Reatile Group. The trust was created to leverage the opportunities provided by South Africa’s economic transformation. Over the years, Reatile has developed and maintained a robust portfolio of investments with leading energy companies locally and globally.
Actively engaged in the energy sector, Reatile is known for fostering effective partnerships and aligning with key industry players. The group operates with a commitment to values such as integrity, trust, respect, perseverance, diversity, and sustainability. Its overarching vision is to uplift the socio-economic conditions of South Africa, with a focus on empowering and inspiring the African youth.
Field of Study
The bursary is available to students pursuing undergraduate studies at UJ in the following disciplines:
- Accounting
- Chemical Engineering
- Environmental Sciences
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
What the Bursary Covers
The bursary will provide funding for:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Books
- Accommodation
- A meal allowance
Additional Notes:
- Students are responsible for covering the cost of any failed subjects or courses.
- The bursary will only fund one level of study per student.
Graduates who complete qualifications in critical and scarce skills may also be eligible to apply for an internship programme with Egoli Gas, one of Reatile’s key affiliates.
Eligibility Requirements for the Reatile Foundation Trust Bursary 2025
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Identify as black (per the BEE Act).
- Have completed Matric.
- Be enrolled at the University of Johannesburg (UJ).
- Study full-time in one of the listed fields.
- Be in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study in 2025.
- Achieve a minimum aggregate of 65% in the 2024 academic year.
- Be in financial need, with a combined household income of no more than R30,000 per month.
- Not be receiving other financial assistance from bursaries or third parties.
- Demonstrate eagerness to make a meaningful impact after completing your studies.
Selection:
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted within one month of the closing date. If you do not receive feedback within this timeframe, consider your application unsuccessful.
