City Power Johannesburg (SOC) Limited remains committed to advancing social and economic development in the region. As part of this mission, the organization is offering bursaries to deserving students pursuing studies in critical fields such as Electrical Engineering, Risk Management, Environmental Health Management, and Information Technology.
This bursary programme is particularly beneficial to students residing within the City of Johannesburg service area, providing financial support for tertiary studies. Notably, the programme promotes gender equality, with a 70% allocation for female applicants and 30% for males.

The bursary is available for the following qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy/Light Current)
- Risk Management
- Environmental Health Management
- Information Technology
Eligibility Requirements for the City Power Joburg Bursary 2025
To qualify for the bursary, applicants must meet these requirements:
1. Residence
- Applicants must reside within the City of Johannesburg service area.
2. Gender Preference
- Female applicants will be prioritized (70% female, 30% male).
3. Academic Performance
- Grade 12 Learners: Must achieve at least 60% (C symbol) and meet the admission requirements of their chosen institution.
- Undergraduate Students: Must maintain a minimum academic average of 60%.
- Preferably studying at universities or TVET colleges in Gauteng, although this is not mandatory.
4. Citizenship
- Applicants must be South African citizens.
