MultiChoice is now accepting applications from students for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. This initiative aims to support aspiring scholars in pursuing their educational goals. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply.
About MultiChoice
MultiChoice, founded in 1993, is a South African company offering satellite television services through DStv and various other platforms, including Showmax (video-on-demand), GOtv (digital terrestrial TV), Supersport (sports channels), and Irdeto (digital security). The company also launched the MultiChoice Talent Factory academies in 2018 to nurture talents in the film and television industry across Africa.

The bursary will be awarded to more than 230 students, for STEM-related degree studies, within the following fields (at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, up to NQF level 9):
- Actuarial Science
- Accounting
- Data & Information Science
- Digital Media Technology
- Film & Television, Marketing
- Filmmaking
- Finance
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Information Engineering
- Information Technology (AI & Robotics)
- Sound Engineering
What the Bursary Covers
The bursary will cover 1 academic year and does not include outstanding academic debt.
Eligibility Requirements for the MultiChoice Bursary 2025
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be in Matric (2024) or have completed Matric.
- Be studying or intending to study full-time in one of the specified fields.
- Be a first-time undergraduate or postgraduate student (Honours or Masters).
- Have achieved:
- A minimum of 75% overall in Matric, or
- A minimum of 65% overall if currently studying.
- Be studying or intending to register at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa.
Required Documents
- Certified copy of ID.
- Certified Matric certificate/statement of results.
- Most recent academic results (on official institution letterhead).
- Proof of acceptance from an accredited tertiary institution (on official letterhead).
- Parents’/guardians’ proof of income (latest payslips, affidavit if unemployed, or proof of SASSA grant/pension).
