The bursary covers all undergraduate fields of study (postgraduate studies are not included).
What the Bursary Covers
Tuition fees:
- TVET students: Up to R25,000/year.
- Undergraduate diploma/degree: Up to R45,000/year.
Eligibility Requirements for the PSiRA Bursary 2025
To be eligible for the PSiRA Bursary, applicants must meet these strict requirements:
- South African citizenship for both the applicant and the PSiRA-registered parent/legal guardian.
- The applicant must be between 19 and 35 years old.
- The applicant must:
- Be employed within the private security sector or have a parent/legal guardian who is a PSiRA-registered security officer.
- Have completed Matric.
- Be enrolled at an accredited TVET college or university in South Africa.
- Be pursuing a full-time undergraduate qualification.
- Applications are accepted from candidates residing in any South African province.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit:
- Fully completed application form.
- Certified copy of the applicant’s ID.
- Certified copy of the PSiRA-registered parent/legal guardian’s ID.
- Certified Matric certificate.
- Proof of registration/acceptance at a TVET college or university.
- Parent/guardian’s latest payslip.
- Parent/guardian’s proof of PSiRA registration.
Note: Certified documents must not be older than three months.

- Complete the form and attach all required documents.
- Scan the completed form and documents into one PDF file.
- Email the application to financial.aid@psira.co.za.
- Include the legal parent/guardian’s PSiRA registration number in the email.
- Applications must be submitted by the student, not the parent.
