Applications for the Moshal Scholarship Program are now open for the 2025 academic year. Scholarships are available for degree studies in the following fields within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and Commerce, offered at selected universities.
About Moshal
The Moshal Scholarship Program supports ambitious and resilient students in South Africa and Israel, helping them complete university education to improve their future and contribute to their communities. Currently, the program funds approximately 1,000 students across both countries. To date, it has enabled 1,173 graduates to achieve degrees in complex fields of study.

What the Scholarship covers
he Moshal Scholarship provides comprehensive support, including:
- Full tuition coverage
- Living and meal allowances
- One-on-one academic and personal guidance
- Career development support, including workshops, professional training, and additional English classes
- Assistance with CV writing, mock interviews, and vacation work opportunities

Eligibility Requirements for the Moshal Scholarship 2025
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the Moshal Scholarship:
- Education:
- Must be in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Must be studying or intending to study a degree in one of the fields listed above in 2025.
- Universities:
- Must be accepted or intending to study at one of these universities:
- Nelson Mandela University (NMU)
- Rhodes University (RU)
- Stellenbosch University (SUN)
- University of Cape Town (UCT)
- University of Free State (UFS)
- University of Johannesburg (UJ)
- University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
- University of Pretoria (UP)
- University of the Western Cape (UWC)
- University of the Witwatersrand (WITS)
- Must be accepted or intending to study at one of these universities:
- Academic Performance:
- Must have achieved at least 70% in English, Mathematics, Physical Science, and/or Accounting.
- Financial Need:
- Family income must not exceed R200,000 per annum (before deductions).
How to Apply for the Moshal Scholarship 2025
Applications must be submitted online via the official Moshal Scholarship 2025 Application page.
Steps to Apply:
- Create an account to begin your application.
- Upload clear copies of the following supporting documents:
- ID document
- Passport and study visa (if not a South African citizen)
- Parents’ or guardians’ ID copies
- Signed declaration/consent form (if under 18)
- Proof of social grants, parents’/guardians’ bank statements, or affidavit of no bank account
- Grade 11 November results
Note: Once the application is submitted, no further changes can be made.
Additional Documents (Required Later):
- Matric final results (for current Matric students)
- Latest full university transcript (for current university students)
- Proof of acceptance or provisional acceptance from the university
- NBT scores (if available)
- Proof of application for other funding
Closing Date
The closing date for applications will be announced. Ensure that you apply before the deadline, as late applications will not be considered.
